Philosophy of Universal Inclusion: A Call for Compassion, Equality, and the Collective Good
At the core of my philosophy lies the principle of equality and inclusion for all. Every human being, regardless of their background, identity, or beliefs, is deserving of compassion, support, and opportunity. Through my work with the Community Union Defence League (C.U.D.L.), I stand firmly on the belief that no one should be left behind. In a society that often pushes marginalised groups to the fringes, it is our shared duty to ensure that everyone has the chance to thrive. Helping, supporting, and encouraging one another is not just a moral obligation—it is the foundation of a just and harmonious society.
The figure of the Good Samaritan resonates deeply in this view of universal inclusion. The Samaritan is a symbolic representation of the truth that none of us are “pure” anything. We are all a complex mix of cultures, backgrounds, and histories. This diversity is not something to fear or diminish; it is our collective strength. The very notion of “pure blood” is an illusion, historically weaponised by fascists, Nazis, and the KKK to stoke fear and division. Such ideas have been used to justify horrific acts of violence and oppression throughout history. They persist even today in political rhetoric, as figures like Trump evoke the threat of immigration “tainting” a nation. But this fear of difference is deeply misplaced—it leads only to division and suffering.
History has shown that economic hardship can give rise to dangerous ideologies, such as the desperation that fuelled Hitler’s ascent to power. When people are struggling and feel abandoned by society, they seek hope, even in destructive leaders. It is precisely in these moments that the importance of inclusion and solidarity becomes most urgent. If we fail to provide hope and opportunity to all, we leave room for fear to take root and for exclusionary ideologies to flourish.
Furthermore, this philosophy of inclusion is not limited to human interactions; it extends to our relationship with the planet. A healthy, thriving planet is a shared responsibility, and it must be treated as the home of every living being. Climate change, pollution, and environmental degradation affect us all, and we must act collectively to preserve the Earth for future generations. No one group or nation can solve these challenges alone—it requires a united effort.
Part of this philosophy also involves exposing and poking fun at the so-called villains—those who seek to divide or oppress. By juxtaposing viewpoints and encouraging others to step into different shoes, we can help people understand their biases and misconceptions. I love the idea of turning hardline right-wingers into hippies, of helping them see the world through a lens of empathy and collective responsibility. Change often begins with perspective, and humour is a powerful tool to disarm rigid ideologies and open minds to new ways of thinking.
Ultimately, this philosophy is about building a world where everyone belongs—where helping others is not an act of charity, but an act of shared humanity. Together, we can create a society that uplifts every individual, celebrates diversity, and ensures that no one is left behind.
